Three inch tall Pets Anyone?

As an Artist that makes one of a kind animal sculptures, one question comes up often... "Can you make a sculpture of my pet?" Well the answer is, Yes I can...probably :P
I have made tiny copies of customer's beloved fur babies for a few years now. Each little fuzzy family member has their own personality and I try to convey that in each piece.
I start by getting several photos of your sweet pet for reference. I begin with the face of the animal, because that is usually the most difficult and most important part.

Once the body is sculpted I can add wings, steampunk or any other fun accessories to the piece to make it unique to the customer.

I have also had unique poses requested to help the sculpture convey the pets personality even more.
And don't think this fun keep sake can only work for dogs, I have made cats too. :)
This sculpture was made to hold a forget-me-not necklace.

A lovely gift for someone looking for a different way to commemorate a pet or just for a sweet tiny copy of a furry companion.

Why Hello there 2015 :)

Super Excited for 2015!
Looking forward to the projects I have planned for this year. I have a whole bunch of new animal pals planned along with plenty more Dragons, not forgetting Steampunk Dragons and Pocket Watches. I have a few more Framed Sculptures that I will be working on and hopefully, I will be able to color the mountains of Sketches I have waiting on me. AND we might be seeing a few of those sketches make their way onto T-Shirts EEP! :D
Also, I have had a lot of you ask about sculpting tutorials so I am planning to do some step-by-step art videos for you, walking you through creating my Dragons and Animal Pals.

Last year I put off some of my commissions, but this year, I should have some of my schedule open up so I can start taking requests again, just message me on FaceBook or email me at mysticreflections@gmail.com
I am currently working on the art for a fun children’s book, I won’t give you too many details yet but I’m super excited about it and now that the holidays are over, I will be able to put more time into it. I’ll try and post plenty of progress photos along the way :)

If things go as planned, you will be seeing a lot more from Mystic Reflections. Can’t wait to see what this year brings! :D

Wedding Cake Topper

Hello Everyone, working hard on a Wedding Cake Topper commission this week. I was really excited to get the request, it just feels great to be able to add to someone’s special day. Also it’s been really fun designing the piece. My customer asked me to make a Dragon with a Fairy riding on it’s back. This is my first full length Dragon so it was a bit of a challenge but he came out great and I learn a lot as well.
It took 5 packs of pearl polymer clay for his body and 3 feet of wire armature to make him stand, approximately 7 inches. I then added the swirly, decorative designs with white polymer clay and gold paint. I was nervous about the wings…I wanted them to be bat like but still match the swirls of his designs and the spikes along his back. They were difficult and I had to redo them about 3 times before I got them the way I wanted.
Anyway the Dragon is complete now, What do you think?

Still putting the finishing touches on the fairy. Once she is all done I’ll get photos and post them for you.
