New and improved Store

Hello Friends! I’ve been busy the past few days, I had created two Cafépress stores, one with my newest art and the other was the first store I created so it had all my older art in it. Well I figured why not just have the one store so people could get at all my art all the time…I know, why didn’t I think of it before…it’s so simple right :P
Anyway it was a tedious task but I combined my new store with my old one so I no longer would have two Cafépress Stores floating around. So here is the new and improved store, featuring my Newer and older Art, Enjoy http://www.cafepress.com/mysticreflect

Working on dem Myxies!

So I got a bit of sculpting done last week. I’m hoping to crank out a few more Myxie bodies this week before I start adding clothes but I did do a little painting on two Myxeis in particular because I got excited about them and couldn’t wait to get them done. I still have hair, clothes and a few more accessories to add to them both but I’ve posted some work in progress photos for you all. One is a snail, I totally got the idea for her after I was completely finished sculpting her, the position she was in just made me think of a snail. So I crafted her some polymer clay antennas and a shell, then added the paint, I think she looks pretty awesome. The other one is a Raccoon. I’ve been playing with the idea of making animal Myxies for a while, so the raccoon just seemed like a fun animal to start with. I enjoyed making her so you will be seeing a few more animal ones…I’m thinking the next one will be an Owl Eeeeek I’m excited to start on that one :)

Updating my Stores!

I have been slowly updating Cafépress and Zazzle for the past few weeks, I still have a lot of my art to add to my store but I have listed over half so far. Cafépress is a little easier to post than Zazzle so I have more products available on Cafépress but I am still adding to both sites and hopefully I will have them both completely up to date with all my art this week or next. Please take a look!

Zombies, Zombies Everywhere and not a Brain to Eat

So I have been working on this project for the better half of 9 months but I wasn’t able to tell you lovely people about it because it was a Christmas present for my husband and he reads my blogs…go figure.
A few years ago he had an idea for a Zombie comic book and he just so happened to know an artist :D so I volunteered to illustrate it for him. Well at that time we had so much going on…i.e. we were planning a wedding…no big thing right? LOL So needless to say the comic book project got pushed to the bottom of the priority list. Well assuming that my hubby had pretty much forgotten about it or just decided it wouldn’t ever get done rather, I thought it would be nice to try and finish it for him, at least the 1st issue. Sneakily I sketched away at the panels the whole time trying to keep it a secret…which I am normally SOOOO bad at and after 9 LONG months I completed his book. Yeah I know that is a long time for a 20 page comic book and if I had an agent he would’ve been all over my case about taking too long but my excuses are as follows…1, I’m not very good at drawing the male form, gross stuff like, oh I don’t know ZOMBIES or mechanical things such as guns and this book was just slap full of that stuff. And 2, I was having to only work on it when my husband was not around, and since we reside in the same house…it was a chore. Anyhoo I was able to complete the book and have it printed in time to present it to him on Christmas morn…Yes, he loved it :)
But now that the gift has been given I've posted a few sneak peek photos for you all…Just a few of the sketches, the cover and some panels. What do you think?

How Time Flies when you’re having Fun!

So I’ve been complaining a lot lately about not having enough time to work on my art. I work Monday through Friday and I don’t usually get home until 5:30 or 6. Then with dinner and making some time for my husband that usually only leaves me 2 to 3 hours a night for working on my art…and that is only if nothing else interferes with that small window of time. A Myxie can take me 6-7 hours to finish, Yeah…So needless to say when it came to cranking out pieces the progress was slow going. But I’m super excited about this year BECAUSE…. I am cutting back on a few of my hours at my 9-5 to make more room for my art. Ohhhh I’m so hoping this will allow me to get so much more done. I will gain about 3 more hours a day for just arting it up, Suh-weeeeet! Also my sweet husband got a new camera for me so I should be able to post photos of how I’m taking advantage of my extra time. Oh I can’t wait to get started!

Thanks for reading and keep checking my blog for updates.

Don’t Judge this Book by its Cover

So on top of being so very excited that my talented husband has just posted his first book for the Kindle, I am also psyched about having the cover I did for him posted. Yep, my very first book Cover. I was so worried about working on it when he asked me to do it for him, I’m more of a Character kinda girl, I like to drew people mostly. But even though it did not turn out exactly how I had envisioned it…and it sorta came out looking more like a bear paw instead of a wolf's…I’m pretty happy with how it came out. I think it complements the feel of the book fairly well. You Kindle owners that read his Book will have to let me know if you agree.

If you are interested in reading my husband’s Book…and you should be because it’s awesome…here’s the link to Amazon.

I'm so Excited I'm Extracited! :D

SOOOOO EXCITED!!! My amazingly talented husband Seth, has just posted his 1st book! He has been writing short horror stories since he was a teenager and finally made the leap to novel. The book is a Werewolf story, but if you are looking for the love-sick-four-legged-fuzzy-tweens of the Twilight books, just keep on moving. There are no cuddly puppies in this story. Just Blood, Action and a pinch of the old myths and legends behind werewolf mythology.
Perhaps I’m a bit bias but I couldn’t put it down, it is a great read with likable characters and equally as likable villains…or unlikable rather :)
You can find his new book “Friedkin’s Curse” on Amazon.com

Check it out and Please leave a comment and let him know what you thought of it.

Thanks for reading everyone and Merry Christmas!

Retro Blog…Dec. 21st 2007 :)

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are your branches…

That’s because of all the Art on them. Yes, I said art. No I haven’t had too much eggnog. :P

The Christmas tree is the ultimate expression of oneself, just like art. That’s why no Christmas tree is the same. When I decorate my Christmas tree, it’s just like when I sit down to paint. The tree is my canvas and the ornaments are my brush. Each piece makes the whole picture and when I’m done its art. Even if it’s lop-sided and there are too many of the same color glass balls hanging together, it’s still my masterpiece. It’s not art that only one person can make, everyone is a Christmas tree artist. Merry Christmas!

Thanks for reading and have a Happy Holiday!
