Atlanta Steampunk Exposition...it's fancier when you spell it out.

My hubby and I will be at Atlanta Steampunk Exposition this weekend. I will have my available sculptures with me, my inventory is a bit small because I have been working on several custom sculptures this month, but I have a few little guys for you. I will also have my Art prints, coloring/children's books and new Christmas cards available at our booth. My husband will have all his books there and will be signing them so make sure you stop by to see us. :)

It's Christmas Time in Lithia this Weekend!

Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know I'll be in Lithia Springs this weekend for CHRISTMAS IN LITHIA! A fun craft show with lots of Holiday goodies.

I will be there with my Art Prints, Coloring Book and Children's Book available AND I am hoping to have some new Christmas cards available at the show.

My husband will be there too with copies of all of his novels, including all 4 of his Winston and Baum series.

Also my talented sewing sister will have lots of hand sewn bags, purses and totes.

Here Comes Dragon Con!

Three months of sculpting my little fingers to the bones is coming to an end, but my work is not over yet. Now comes four crazy days of long nights, early mornings and Sci-fi and Fantasy Geekdom as far as the eye can see. Ladies and gentleman...This...is...DRAGON CON!!!
I never seem completely ready for this weekend, it comes up so fast, leaving me with a to-do list only a quarter way finished. BUT alas there is no stopping it, so me and my little creations step into the Artshow ready for the on coming Fandom Storm. It's not all work and no play though, looking forward to seeing all the awesome costumes, re-connecting with Con-buddies, the fun parties and convention swag, Oh yes the swag. :D But enough about the craziness of the show, you wanna know what Mystic Reflections is gonna have for you this year, right?!

I got another small army of cuteness for ya. These little darlings will be available for you at my vending table.

Winston and Baum's 4th book Cover!

My talented hubby has been writing an awesome adventure filled steampunk series for the past several years, Winston and Baum. These fun books follow Winston and Baum, two partners that specialize in the extermination of pesky supernatural trouble makers.  I have had the honor ...and frustration of illustrating each of his covers for him.

It is an honor to be a part of such an entertaining extension of my husband's mind. Being able to bring form to characters that he created has been amazing. However, I specialize in cute animals or girl's so when my husband asked me to draw some men with guns...needless to say it was a bit out of my comfort zone. It has been frustrating to work on each of his covers but probably none so much as this last one. Over four weeks of sketching and re-sketching to get Winston and Baum to look right on the page.

I knew the look and position that I wanted to portray but my pencil didn't seem to want to cooperate ...yes it was the pencil that was the issue I'm almost sure of it. :P  And don't even get me started on the coloring issues...there is ALWAYS coloring issues.

Colored in PhotoShop...this program knows what I want it to do but it never listens. :P

But here I am, still in one piece and the fourth Winston and Baum cover is looking pretty awesome if I do say so myself. :D

Searching for Treasures

My sister and her husband are expanding their little family through Adoption!

We are so very excited and they are getting everything ready but they need some help to make this possible. They are holding an Auction to help raise money. They have some great pieces for you to bid on, including a few pieces I donated to this awesome cause, a Teddy Bear handmade Sculpture and some matted Dragon Doodle Prints of mine. 

My husband has also donated signed copies of his 1^st and 2^nd Book in his Winston and Baum Steampunk Adventure book series, along with Prints of the cover art. But THAT’S NOT ALL…My sister is amazingly talented with a sewing machine and has made some incredible quilts for you to bid on, any of these will make super gifts for the Holiday :)

REV FEST THIS WEEKEND!!! JAVA JAVA JAVA!

So I know it is kind of short notice, but I will be at a small craftshow in Smyrna GA this weekend, Rev Fest
I will be there with my husband, he will have his Winston and Baum books for sale, come by and get a copy, he always gives a special show rate ;) My sister will have a booth there too, she hand makes amazing purses and bags and unique bracelets, you totally need to come check out her stuff!
I won't have my little sculptures with me, because my inventory is still tiny from the Dragon Con artshow last month BUUUUUUT I will have my matted Prints!

TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH!!!!

Wow, a project that was anticipated to only take a few days ended up taking 4 weeks, Phew, what a task it was too BUUUUT I an FINISHED now, well at least with the coloring.

All I have to add for the Winston and Baum 2nd Book Cover to be complete is the Title text, then it will be ready to send to the printers and then my husband's 2nd Steampunk Adventure book will be available for purchase, EXCITING!!!
This one is called Winston and Baum and the seven mummies of Sekhmet, so the mean looking lady with the lioness face, hovering over everyone, that's Sekhmet. I imagine she is super cranky because Winston and Baum, with their sidekick goblin, Brackish, keep messing up her mass take over plans. The team have a penchant for getting in the way of supernatural villains, to find out more about them, you'll have to read the books :D

TAKE ALL DAY WHY DON’T CHA!?

Haven’t worked on my husband’s 2^nd Book cover in a long while but the last bit of the editing process has been completed so now we are just waiting on Me ooops so I figured I’d better get back to it. 

I finished the inking this weekend so now on to the coloring, I’m hoping it will only take a few days to complete Buuuuut things hardly ever go the way I plan sooo we’ll see LOL

I will post progress Photos as I color so keep checking my FaceBook page for updates :)

Red Riding Hood and the Not so Big or Bad Wolf

FINISHED! All done coloring Red and Little Wolf.  Really like how it turned out.  

I’m working on a sketch for another one with Goldie Locks and the little bear, should have photos tomorrow :)

After this, I think I’m done with the new sketches for a little while so I can get a few pieces colored, then I will be taking some time to work on another Book Cover for my husband’s second book in his Winston and Baum series.
