So Much yet so Little Time

I’ve been making a lot of progress lately. My husband and I just bought our first House WHOOT! and we will be moving in soon. With all the packing and unpacking that goes with moving into a new place, not to mention the painting and a million other things we will be doing, I am trying to get out as many Myxies as possible before the move. Dragon Con, the largest SiFi Convention in the Southeast, is coming up in September, and I want to have plenty of inventory by then. Even though I have made a nice dent in my to do Myxie list, I still have about 12 Myxies to complete. Considering each Myxie takes 2-3 days, I’m trying to hurry or I won’t be able to get them all finished. I have some really Fun Myxies planned too, Steampunk Witch, Pirate, Geisha, just to name a few. Also I plan on making many more Dragon Pals, including more Steampunk Dragon Pals. Going to try and get at least 2 more Myxies done before June…only have a few more days to do it in too…then I may take a few weeks off to get all the moving and house stuff out of the way. But I’m hoping all of that won’t take too long and I’ll be able to get back to sculpting. So there’s just a little update on things to come, Keep checking my blog for updates. Oh that’s Creepy

Hello everyone! I have another Myxie to show you all. She was soooo much fun to make. She’s a little forgotten toy Ballerina, one of the best parts was adding the holes and dirt to her poor little tutu. Then sculpting her some joints and slumping her to one side gave the perfect touch, not to mention making her a bit creepy. Can’t have a good Forgotten Toy without the Creepy Aspect.
As for her seat, from the beginning I knew I wanted her to sit on a little Alphabet Block but I was having a hard time finding one, I just needed one, so I decided to just make it myself. With the right paint, clay can look a lot like wood :) So What do you think?

Just like Grandma's

I am obsessed with miniature dollhouse food, furniture, dinnerware you name it. I’m just mesmerized by the intricacy of these tiny pieces, some are so detailed and adorable. So recently I have been making my own mini food. The Myxie I’m working on right now is my Cherry Myxie. She is going to have, you guessed it, A Cherry theme! I’m planning a cute hat made out of a Cherry tea cup and saucer, a fun apron over her handmade dress with cherries covering it and my favorite that I have sculpted so far, a delicious piece of Cherry Pie! OH BOY!!! I had soooooo much fun making this polymer clay pie. It takes a steady hand and some great tools to pull off food this small…No idea how I did it then LOL
I enjoyed it so much there should be a lot more where this came from.
Can’t wait until the Myxie is finished.

Thanks for reading, keep checking my blog for updates on my art!

Goth Myxie

Almost done with another Goth Myxie I’ve been working on, much like the Tim Burton inspired Myxie I did with the spider web wings. This new one is all black and white with a handmade dress and polymer clay hat. I am so pleased with how she is turning out. To give you all a little sneak peek I’ve posted a picture of her tiny dress.
Next, I’ll be finishing up the Masquerade Myxie, and should have some photos for you soon.

My Addiction to BARBIES!

BARBIES! I am totally addicted to those little Plastic Dolls, ever since I was a little girl making them dresses out of socks, nothing has changed…I still can’t help but walk down the Barbie isle when I go into a Toy Store. And have even made a few custom Barbies of my own.
So I was overly delighted to found this great site “One and Only Dolls”
This talented Artist makes custom Barbies that are just amazing. The details she puts into their clothes and hair makes them stand out, but she doesn’t stop there, she also hand paints each face…I know it’s awesome.
Anyway I’ll stop being a crazy uber fan, here’s the site. Check it out!

P.S. I’ve finished a few more Myxies this month and will try and post them soon. Thanks for reading!
