Heard back from the Dragon Con Art Show Jury, I got in to the Art show....7 years of Dragon Con and it is still nerve-racking to go through jury. But now to get to work on some brand new Gallery pieces, I'm getting started a bit later than normal but this year has been crazy busy.
Anyhoo, got some fun stuff planned, new Framed sculptures, more animal pals, Steampunk animals pals and Steampunk dragons , some of my Steampunk Pocket Watches and a few other little critters including my Cute'Thuluhs, this will be their 1st Dragon Con. :)
So much to do before September!
Can't wait for Dragon Con to see my little guys? You're in Luck, I will be at TimeGate Con May 22nd - 24th, so make sure to stop by and see us :)
Thanks for reading!

Where Have I Been?!
Haven’t Blogged in a few weeks, I have been pretty busy trying to recover from Dragon Con. The Art Show was Great by the way. Probably our 2nd best year ever. I got to meet a lot of my Facebook Followers, it was so nice to be able to meet the Face behind the comments. Also I won an Award, My Goria Zombie Myxie won “Best Doll”, my 1st juried award I’ve ever received at Dragon Con, so that was super exciting. :)
I have finished adding the little Steampunk Dragons that didn’t go home with someone during the Art Show and will be adding the last few Animal Pals this week. https://www.etsy.com/shop/MysticReflections
Now I’m trying to get my inventory back up, so for the next couple of weeks I will be sculpting new Steampunk Dragons and Animal Pals and hopefully coloring my newest sketches, along with a few others original pieces I have planned before the Holidays. As always, I have my schedule packed with all kinds of fun ideas, so here’s hoping I can get at least half of them done LOL :)
Also Check out this fun Etsy Treasury that two of my Dragons were featured in.

Thanks for reading, keep checking my Facebook page and Blog for my newest pieces.

PASSED!!!
PASSED JURY! I have been accepted into the Dragon Con Art Show in September! :)
Unfortunately this doesn’t guarantee me a spot, they have so many participates, that sometimes they don’t have the space for everyone. So fingers crossed, the Myxies get to attend their favorite Con this year.
Only a little over 4 months to get all the inventory I need ready for the show, that isn’t long at all, I need to get my rear in gear. Speaking of gears, I will be working on a bunch more Steampunk Dragon Pals AND their New Friends, the Steampunk Myxie Pals, for the show. Along with brand New Myxies, New Prints and New Paintings. So much to do, so little time to do it in. Wish me luck everyone. :)
Thanks for reading!

That was Weird...
So Happy about how easy the Dragon Con sign up was this year. Since I won two awards, best Fairy and Best Horror at Dragon Con 2010, I didn’t have to go through the Art Show Jury this year. Thanks to all the attendees who voted for my work and saved me the tedious task of selecting which of my pieces to send to be judged. Not to mention, being able to now avoid the long wait on “will I be excepted in the show or not” that follows. This time I just filled out what displays and tables I wanted and Bop! Bam! Boo! I was done in like 5 minutes…leaving me plenty of time to do other things I needed to get done. Such as staring mindlessly at my computer, trying to look as though I’m working diligently on pointless Reports while actually daydreaming about weather I’d be a Super Hero or Villain, if I had a special power. Ya know, real important stuff. :P
I’m so excited whenever Dragon Con comes around…as always I’m full of so many ideas for pieces I want to get done in time for the Art show, but as always I don’t have enough time for them all. So, for this month, I’ll spend some of my time deciding which pieces will be a part of the show and which ones will have to wait another year. So hard to choose but, alas, I only have the one set of hands…just until I have the surgery to get more accomplished and become Octohand the superhero with eight hands who cranks out piece after piece of beautiful art in minutes. Then no doubt I would get to arting so fast that some unforeseen accident happens leaving me horribly mangled and bitter thus making me decide on a life of crime. Then my name would be OctoCrime…yeah nice ring to that…and I’d terrorize the city with all the mayhem I’d cause.
Wow that was a bit of a strange tangent…. Oh well back to pretending to work.
Thanks for reading, keep checking my blog for updates on my art.

Time to Brag :)

Hey Everyone! Dragon Con is over and things are starting to get back to normal…well all except the whole getting married in a little over a month WHAAAAAT!
Anyway so like always D-Con was fun, each year I meet boocoo bunches of colorful people. As always there were my favorite artists like Rob Carlos and Joseph Corsentino. Also a few 1st years I got the pleasure of meeting, like Marc Robinson, a talented young artist who’s work was just incredible http://marsillustration.blogspot.com/
Now for the part of the blog where I get all braggy…my head is a little bigger since Dragon Con cause, you my friends are now looking at an Award Winning Artist YAY! Yep, I won my 1st award at Dragon Con this year…not just one but two. Oh man was I uber stoked and so surprised. So I’m sitting there at the award ceremony just waiting to hear who the lucky winners are, not at all thinking I would be one of them. BUT HOO they called my name, TWICE YES little darlings! Can you tell I’m excited :) The attendees are the ones that choose the winners so Special Thanks to all of you that voted on my work, let me just tell you that it made this little artist’s day, really did.
Here are my award winning pictures;
Voted Best Horror “They’re Coming” Scratch Art piece in upper corner.
Voted Best Fairy “Steampunk Myxie” Polymer Clay sculpture, no pictures available yet.
Well it was fun as always and best part is now that I’ve won an award, I don’t have to pass a jury to get into Dragon Con 2011, YAH Baby Whoot! Anyways Thanks for letting me Brag.
Tootles!

No You Can't Keep a Good Dog Down
Well if you read my blog about submitting a picture into Spectrum http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=201883352&blogId=465900536
I’m sorry to report…I didn’t get in It really bummed me out but I won't let that discourage me, I’m going to keep trying until they accept me.
But I have some good news, I got into The SiFi/Fantasy Convention, Dragon Con again this year. I was so nervous to hear back…not as nervous as last year cause I have gone though it all, both being rejected and accepted by the D-Con jury. And this year they accepted me OH BOY!
Oh So much to do, so much to do. I have a pile of projects to finish before the con. But unlike last year…I have time to finish them…I think. Also unlike last year I have many more Large pieces I will be selling. I am currently working on a 24x30 painting. It is a menagerie of Fantasy creatures, like dragons, unicorns, griffins, ya know all the classic ones. I’ve only done one other painting this large before and that one wasn’t as detailed as this one will be. So I’m pretty excited about finishing it. Along with that I have a slew of other projects I’m working on, including MORE MYXIES! Oh yeah, you know you are excited :P
Well I guess I better get started…I’ve got a lot of work to do.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Dragon Con Art Show Update
I just heard back from the Dragon Con Jury…And Guess What…Drum roll please…..I got in! Whoot!
Whoo I was so excited to get that news Dun de dumdum Dobedo do do That's me singing the happy time victory song.....
SCCCRRRREEEEEEECCHHHHH and that's my happy fun time screeching to a halt because unfortunately even though I passed the jury, Dragon Con had too many applicants this year and had to cut a few and I was one of the ones cut :(....
It's not all bad though because now that I've passed I will be able to pass every year so my plan is to keep trying until I get a booth. I will however still be going to D-Con and passing out business cards and flyers, cause that's a great place for marketing. Anyhow I know you are all disappointed that I won't have a booth….or at least you are good at faking it, so Thanks, all of you for rooting for me. ....
.. ..
Talk to you later Fans :P....

Dragon Con Art Show
For those of you who know what Dragon Con is you know it is fast approaching, and for those of you who don't know what it is, D-Con is the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the US.
Dragon Con's art show is one of my favorite exhibits that D-Con has to offer, artists from all over come to display their work. It is amazing to see all the different styles of professionals and armatures lining the walls and this year I want to be part of it.
First step to reaching my goal to be in the art show is applying for it and paying the application fee..Done and Done!
Second step is deciding what art to send into the D-Con jury. Yes the jury will decide my artistic fate. And boy was that a chore. The tedious task begins with picking which pictures I want to submit. That's not too hard you may think, but for a person like me who is incapable of making a decision when it comes to my art, it is a long drawn out task that usually ends in tears and half my hair missing. But after sopping up my face and covering my hair in a hat I made my choice. Time to send it to the jury…Dun Dun DUN!
Third step…we wait. I hate waiting, someone as impatient as myself doesn't wait…we simmer…like a pot on a stove getting warmer and warmer until the lid flies off (yes that has happened to me before, apparently you aren't supposed to leave a pot on high for 12 hours…who would've thought). "Oh please, oh please, OH PLEASE pick my art for the show" runs over and over in my head as I wait…as patiently as I am capable for the letter saying "you are accepted". If I had gone to college I imagine waiting on that letter would've been much the same.
Unfortunately step three is where I must leave you…I know the suspense is killing you right….me too, but I haven't heard back from the jury to whether or not I've been accepted. I will keep everyone posted though. Check back in a few weeks I should be hearing from them soon.
